Cunninghams is a restaurant/cafe duo that you can find hidden away between York Road and Dulaney Valley Road. On the bottom level you can walk in to find hipster wood-decor with the cafe serving unique coffee brews, as well as both meat and vegetarian-friendly options. They serve both breakfast and lunch. Then on the top level is a classy sit-down restaurant. They serve food with ingredients grown from their own farm only fifteen minutes up the road. It’s a great date night location.
This burger joint located in Belvedere Square is a little ways down York Road but it’s worth the trip. It specializes in highly customizable burgers and Canadian-style poutine. This restaurant is not just for meat-lovers though – they have one mean veggie burger. The gravy on their poutine is vegetarian as well. Make sure to also try one of their delicious milkshakes!
This Mexican restaurants is on the other side of York Road, up in Cockeysville. They serve authentic Mexican food at a respectable price. The best part about this restaurant, in my opinion, is their salsa. It is to die for and it is perfect when coupled with an appetizer of queso. If you’re in the mood for Mexican, this is the place to go.
7West is a Greek/American restaurant just around the corner from the Towson campus. They serve a wide variety of foods ranging from a falafel gyro to barbeque ribs. Anyone can find something they love to eat on their extensive menu. They also serve a great brunch on the weekends. Who can say no to that?
This Indian restaurant can be found in a little nook on Allegheny Avenue. Individual dishes can generally be a little more expensive, however, Kathmundo Kitchen offers a well-priced lunch buffet. This all-you-can-eat buffet has a wide selection of authentic Indian dishes that will lead you straight to a food coma. You’ll have zero regrets.
This cafe, also on Allegheny Avenue, is the perfect place for those of you who eat raw, vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, or Paleo. They use consciously sourced ingredients to create unique recipes that leave you feeling good about your meal and feeling good in your stomach. They also have a juice bar to satisfy your healthy juice cravings.
Towson Diner is a classic go-to for many Towson students, located on York Road. They serve hearty portions of breakfast, lunch, and dinner food. Just like 7West, they serve both Greek and American style dishes. This is the best place to go if you’re craving a late night snack as they are open twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. You don’t really experience Towson until you eat at Towson Diner.
This cute cafe is across the street from Clark Burger in Belvedere Square. It can satisfy your craving for something sweet or savory. You can get a Crepe Florentine for lunch and then order the Bananarama for dessert. They also offer the option of creating your own crepe full of whatever your heart desires (that’s on the menu).
Atwater’s is a Baltimore-based cafe and can be found in the Kenilworth shopping center. It serves traditional cafe dishes that are organic and made with seasonally local ingredients. It’s in a quirky round building in the middle of the shopping center and is great to place to pick up lunch after you’ve been shopping at Trader Joe’s.
Towson Hot Bagels
Finally, there is THB. This is the ultimate breakfast place for a Towson student to go to. Come Sunday mornings and you’ll find that the line is out the door. However, don’t be dissuaded – it moves fast and the wait is worth it. The menu is filled with all types of breakfast foods centering around bagels. However, they also have sandwiches and salads if you’re looking to branch out.
