Are you ready, because Tigerfest is right around the corner! If you weren’t aware, Towson’s Campus Activities Board has been making major preparations for this highly, anticipated campus-wide event. Each year, CAB impresses the student body, who anxiously awaits the release for this concert. This past Thursday, CAB scheduled a release for the information regarding Day 1 and 2, which is scheduled for Friday, April 28th and 29th.

Surprisingly, students were able to find out the concert’s headliner before it was released! 2 Chainz, the rapper scheduled to perform for the main concert, shared this show performance via Facebook. If this was not enough, @TowsonHorse, a parody account known by Towson students, leaked this information, which spread rather quickly on social media.

At around 4:30pm, CAB officially released the weekend events on the Towson University Snapchat account. If you missed out, here’s the full run down of events:
Day 1: Friday April 28th, 2017
  • All roads lead to Lot 26 starting at 6pm! For this opening day of events, the lot will be filled with performances, food trucks, rides, and even a beer garden! And guess what, it’s absolutely free! This years headliner is Chase Bryant, and performances include acts by Thunder Club, DJ Gurf, King Zell & Tay Harper.
Day 2: Saturday April 29th, 2017
  • The grand concert is going to take place in SECU Arena. Doors open at 6:30pm. The opening act is scheduled to be performed by rising hip-hop artist, Dreezy. Grammy award winning rapper, 2 Chainz will be the headlining artist.
Student pre-sale tickets were announced to go on sale, the day after this release, via Ticketmaster.
Students expressed their concerns via social media about not having enough time to prepare for such sudden expenses. However, to no surprise, floor tickets quickly sold out, currently leaving only lower and upper bowl tickets for sale for students, and outside guests. If you haven’t purchased your tickets, here are the prices:
  • Towson students:
Lower bowl: $30
Upper bowl: $25
General tickets for the public will go on sale this Friday, April 7th at 10am via Ticketmaster. TU Students who have already purchased tickets will also have the opportunity to purchase additional tickets along with the general public.
  • General public:
Lower bowl: $35
Upper bowl: $30
If you ask me, it is in your best interest to purchase your ticket for this year’s event. CAB has worked extremely hard for this year’s Tigerfest, and it surely will be a great time. See you there!
